We will begin our trip towards Pahalgam and drive on the National Highway 1A. This road connects the Valley to the rest of the country. We drive past the saffron fields of Pampore, the marvellous ruins of Avantipur and the village of Bijbehara which remains famous as the bread basket of Kashmir. You can even sample a few exotic breads sold by vendors near the road. We switch the national highway at Khanabal and drive through the second largest city of Anantnag. From here the road turns scenic as we drive parallel on the Lidder River flowing from the opposite direction. In Pahalgam we check in at the hotel and later do some nature walks to unwind ourselves. You can also opt to spend your half a day sightseeing by driving to the picturesque Aru Valley, Betaab valley & Chandanwari (own your own expenses) or riding by horseback across the wildlife sanctuary towards Baisaran meadows (own your own expenses). After your return from the beautiful meadows you will spend the night at the hotel.
After breakfast leave for Sonmarg for a Day trip the name Sonmarg is derived from two Kashmiri words ''Son'' & ''Marg'' Which means ''Gold'' & ‘‘Meadows’’. When put together it means ''Meadow of Gold'' The drive from Srinagar to Sonmarg is very beautiful as you will pass through some towns and villages, at many places you can enjoy the Paddy fields with rivers flowing on one side. In Sonmarg you can visit Thajwas Glacier which is around 4Kms from Sonmarg (own your own expenses). You can also visit Zero point, a local Taxi has to be hired (on your own Expenses). Return back to Srinagar in the evening after enjoyed your day, overnight stay in Houseboat at Dal Lake.
